Catamaran
Catamarans (catamaran vessels) provide high comfort for the crew, plenty of space on board, spacious indoor, large and comfortable cabins. Catamarans do not tilt like mono-hull sailing yachts, so people not familiar with the sea can feel safe. Chartering a catamaran isa perfect choice for families with children, elderly people and for everyone who want to sunbathe.
A typical catamaran cabin layout provides improved comfort of stay e.g. for two befriended families, as mostly each of two hulls have two cabins and a bathroom. So, each of the families has its “own” sleeping part of the yacht. A large living room with a kitchen at the cockpit level is a shared part allowing to spend some time together in a friendly atmosphere. In addition, large decks provide a place to play for children, and plenty sunbathing space for adults.
Catamarans mostly have four double cabins and two bathrooms, or four double cabins and four bathrooms. Versions with five or more full-size cabins are more rare. Some of units have so called skipper cabins are by assumption designed for a skipper and are significantly smaller than other cabins. Two additional places to sleep are often available in the living room.
The selection of that type of yachts is smaller, and charter prices are higher. In peak season, catamarans should be booked well in advance, as often the most expensive units are available at the last moment. Higher prices of catamaran halt in ports are their vulnerability.
