Self Tacking Jib

Self Tacking Jib

The self tacking jib is a solution that appears more and more often on yachts. It allows for automatic turning, without involving the crew in the manual handling of the jib’s sheet. In the past, such jibs were mounted mainly on small vessels, even single-seater ones. Today it is a very popular addition to make sailing easier, used regardless of the size and class of the yacht.

Nowadays it's a good solution for virtually all tourist sailing fans. It makes it much easier to steer a vessel, especially when our crew is not trained in sailing. When our vessel is equipped with a self tacking jib, we are confident that we can handle the returns without much effort. Not only will it be easier, it will also be much faster. The self tacking jib is especially recommended for small or beginners’ crews.

Unfortunately, the self tacking jib limits the sail area. However, this should not be felt when sailing in a quiet, touristic environment.
