Heating on a boat

Heating on a boat

The heating on a yacht most often resembles a solution known from trucks. Parking heater (also called webasto) is powered by diesel fuel, taken from the fuel tank, which is also used for yacht engines. It allows the cabin to heat up and eliminate moisture from it. On warm waters it is especially useful in the off-season, when the nights get colder. In the summer months it usually proves to be unnecessary. On colder waters it is a solution that significantly increases the comfort of sailing throughout the season.

What should you keep in mind when using the heating on my yacht?

  • Heating consumes relatively small amounts of fuel, but when using webasto you should intensively control its level in the tanks.
  • When it rains and in worse weather conditions, the heater should be used to dry clothes and the interior of damp cabins.
